The South Indian Education Society's Indian Institute of Environment Management (SIES-IIEM) has been contributing towards Extensive R&D, Academics and Outreach Activities in the Areas of Sustainable Development, Environment Management and Climate Change. Our flagship event, nurturing ‘Climate Ambassadors’ Program’ (CAP) was launched in October 2023. The main aim of this initiative is to enlighten and influence the general masses to change their lifestyles and adopt appropriate eco-friendly measures in a way that reduces environmental pollution, in general, and carbon emissions, in particular, through the proper nurturing of "Child-Ambassadors” under the guidance of SIES-Indian Institute of Environment Management.

The participants are being familiarized with the concepts of ESG (Environmental Social and Governance) and SDG (Sustainable Development Goals to help them adopt innovative methods aimed at conservation of resources and use of renewable energy in their daily life. The schools are encouraged to develop green campuses and environment friendly practices and the Climate Ambassadors will be encouraged to replicate their knowledge and practices at the community level.

The pre-launch briefing session CAP was held on 5th October, 2023, at SIES High School Matunga. Students and teachers from over 30 schools from Mumbai participated in this event and about 5 schools joined the session online from other cities.
